Historic Casa Feliz Wedding | Winter Park, Florida

Wedding Photographer & Videographer • Orlando, FL

This was the second wedding we’ve had the pleasure of capturing at Casa Feliz in Winter Park. This Central Florida venue never ceases to amaze with it’s beautifully restored Spanish Farmhouse Rustic beauty.
Andrea + Guye chose to have their wedding here because they just completely fell in love with the architecture and the history of this building, and they wanted to take full advantage of the venues beauty with their wedding photography and videography.

Guye and his friends were a riot, and so much fun to work with! When a couple has a larger wedding party, it' presents its own unique set of challenges to overcome. Some of those include working with different heights, more personalities to adapt to, and just getting them to listen in general (fellow photographers, you know what I mean, right?). The bossy/authoritative voice has to come out more often for larger wedding parties, but taking photos/video of larger wedding parties can also be made easier by having a well thought out timeline. How?

In the simplest way, more people = more time needed. Getting 2-3 guys and 2-3 girls lined up and moved around in different poses is relatively easy, honestly. However, when you’ve got 6-8 guys and 6-8 girls, PLUS the bride and groom, organizing and setting up a group of 14-18 people is going to take A LOT longer. That’s why we always ask wedding party size before starting your customized Photo and Video timeline, because we want your wedding day to be as least stressful as possible, and being on time or ahead of time with photos and videos is a huge way to ensure minimal stress.

Because Andrea loved the venue so much, she had quite a few inspiration photos that she shared with me, and I’m honestly so glad she did. I mean, does she not look like a freaking queen in these photos?! Between the elegant ballgown with all the beading, her jewelry, veil, bouquet… No wonder mom had a hard time keeping it together during their first look.

This inner courtyard is a spot that we didn’t get to spend too much time in during the first wedding we captured here, and I’m so glad we got to spend more time here with Andrea + Guye! The first look here was bordering on magical honestly, it was so sweet and intimate, and they were surrounded on all four sides in this beautiful location they fell in love with, with their family and friends watching them from above.

After their first look, we took a majority of their wedding party photos, family photos, and couples portraits. And that’s why I absolutely LOVE first looks. We had so much time to get through their wedding party photos and family photos, so it was very low stress. Then before the ceremony, we took the bulk of their couples photos. Doing couples photos before the ceremony allowed us to take full advantage of the outside of the venue before too many guests arrived, and before cocktail hour started with even more staff running around to take care of guests or finish setting up the reception space.
Huge bonus, it also allowed us extra time during cocktail hour for even more couples portraits. This greatly multiplied the amount of photos that Andrea and Guye got of just them, and gave them SO Much Variety in the poses, prompts, and photo ops around the venue!

After a couple conversations, we decided that a mock exit would be best for the timeline for Andrea + Guye. They definitely wanted exit pictures, and they didn’t care about going straight to the car after their exit, and they also didn’t want to add on more hours to their package to accommodate us staying until the very end of the night. So, the mock exit was the perfect choice! How did we do it?

Well, about 20 minutes after open dancing started, we pulled aside all of the wedding party and snuck outside with the bubble machines and guns, and it only took about 10 minutes! After this, everyone drank and danced the night away!
