A couple months before Nancy + Jose’s wedding day, we met up for coffee and to hash out all the details regarding the photo/video timeline. Nancy came prepped with her wedding binder and her laptop, and gave me so much reassurance and confidence that she was going to be awesome to work with!
She took notes, asked questions, took more notes, and it all paid off on the wedding day. Everything went so smoothly, and it was literally a dream wedding! Keep scrolling to see the pics and read the stories from Nancy + Jose’s Dreamy and Elegant outdoor wedding.
Nancy had actually went to her final dress fitting with her mom, when they saw this dress and mom decided she just had to have it! Nancy went to great lengths to keep this second dress hidden from her bridesmaids, so when she did the first look with her bridesmaids, they were in true shock! They’d been with her to pick her ceremony dress so this one was a complete surprise, and it was so sweet, almost everyone was in tears!
Nancy + Jose had two photographers, and this allowed us to have more than enough time with both sides of the wedding party for getting ready pics, formal bride + bridesmaids pics, formal groom + groomsmen pics, and even some family portraits. Because we were able to get all those pics completed before the ceremony, we had time during cocktail hour to have some more freedom for creativity with full wedding party photos.
The couples portraits were also very important to the couple, so we made sure that we scheduled the most amount of time possible for those in the itinerary. Most of the time on wedding days 20-30 minutes for couples portraits will suffice. However, we’d strongly recommend slightly extending your cocktail hour so that you can have up to 45-60 minutes solely for your couples portraits. This will greatly increase the amount of photos you get back of the two of you, and it will also make the process a little more relaxing and enjoyable, allowing you to soak in those precious moments of just the two of you on the most important day of your lives.
The ceremony was absolutely stunning, with gorgeous florals by Something Bloomed, the ring security, ring bearer and flower girl obviously were the best part until Nancy came down the staircase with her dad. A dear family member and friend officiated the wedding so it was perfectly personal and sweet, something I’m sure they’ll remember for forever.
As I mentioned earlier, couples portraits were very important to Nancy + Jose, so we made sure we allowed plenty of time to get a large variety of poses, angles, and prioritized getting wide, medium, and tight photos of every pose/prompt we used.
Something that a lot of people don’t think about when preparing the timeline of the day is that if you have both a photographer and a videographer, they both need time to get their shots. Even if the pose or prompt the couple is doing is the same, they BOTH need to get all the different angles in order to capture what they need to make you happy at the end of the day. So ensuring the proper amount of time in the itinerary prior to the wedding day allows your photo/video team time to be creative, capture everything, and helps them stay on schedule.
Where to begin with this reception!!! Everything was gorgeous, obviously. Everyone was having so much fun too! DJ Patty with HPS Entertainment is phenomenal at what she does, everyone was on the dance floor all night long. The mother daughter dance was a surprise, and every time there’s a mother daughter dance, I’m pretty much guaranteed to cry because I can’t wait to have that with our daughter one day.
