Location Ideas

There’s SO many amazing spots in Orlando to take photos, there’s a scene for pretty much anything. Downtown Orlando has this cool urban vibe, that can change based on when you decide to have your photoshoot. It can be empty streets, quiet alleyways, and makes you feel like you’re in a cool abandoned town if you go early in the morning on a weekend. Or it can be loud, a crazy hustle and bustle of people, cars driving by and honking in the distance, with so much movement and life everywhere. Both scenarios provide a completely different feel for the photoshoot, and both are unique and fun.

We also LOVE Wekiwa Springs. There’s these amazing tall grasses on the side of the road running through the park, and the pictures that we can get with that are just beautiful. It’s about 20-30 minutes away from Downtown Orlando, and looks and feels as if you’re far away in the country, walking through fields of tall wheat stalks. Wekiwa Springs doesn’t have just the tall grasses, there’s big trees, empty roads, and grassy areas so that you have plenty of variety for your photoshoot. During summer months, everything is alive and growing, so there’s plenty of greenery and even wildflowers if that’s your thing!

One of our most frequently used photoshoot locations is going to be Park Ave and Rollins College, in Winter Park.  In our opinion, it has the perfect mixture of Urban sections, Garden/Nature Sections, and Rustic Sections.  There’s parking garages, gardens, red brick buildings, train tracks, cool alleyways, monochromatic buildings, a lake, and more!  If you’re undecided on the feel you want for your engagement or wedding photos, Park Ave will almost always be our first recommendation, just because you have so many options within a few blocks of each other.

Last, but certainly not least, is Lake Runnymede Conservation area. With big oak trees, hanging moss, open fields, and tall grasses, this location has a hold on my heart.

Check out the photos below of these three areas, and see what I’m talking about!

Coffee + Food Recommendations

Whether it’s for meeting up for coffee, having some incredible food, or just doing something cool as a couple or family, this is a list of our favorite places!

Coffee Coffee Coffee!

We LOVE our coffee, so needless to say, a lot of our business meetings, and client consultations happen over coffee. Check out this list of some of our favorite spots below!

Foxtail Coffee Co: This awesome coffee shop has grown to multiple locations, so there’s almost always one close by! They have the coolest interior decorations and style. This is an awesome shop to stay for a while and get some work done, to meet up for consultations, or to hang out and meet other people!

Black Bean Deli: Funny story, before we were doing Photo + Film full time, Manny and I worked together for another company, and EVERY DAY on our way to work we would pass by Black Bean Deli, we always said we wanted to try it, but being creatures of habit, we never did. Well, we whole-heartedly regret that decision, because we missed out on so much time that we could have had this amazing coffee and food in our life!! The cappuccino’s and cafe con leche’s are sooo delicious. I love that the Colonial Location has outdoor seating options, and we especially enjoy that on the few cooler days we get here in Florida.

Piccolo Coffee Co: We first found out about Piccolo Coffee Co during a morning at the Orlando’s Farmers Market at Lake Eola. The guys working the booth were so friendly, asked questions about what kind of coffee we liked, made recommendations, and we were not disappointed when we decided on the Florida Honey Latte. They have pop-ups around the city, and a location in Winter Garden, and they’ll even cater weddings! Can you please hire both us, and Piccolo Coffee Co? You won’t regret it, plus you’ll be helping one of our dreams come to life.

And of course the obligatory Starbucks mention: We love Starbucks for our go to Iced Soy Latte, you can’t go wrong with it, plus we get rewards for using the app, and it’s a 3 minute drive from our house, walking distance in the cooler weather, plus the locations that have outside (socially distant) seating is great for meeting up with clients who prefer an in person meeting rather than a zoom or FaceTime meeting. It’s nothing special, but fills the need for caffeine when we really need it.

Now on to the equally important topic of… FOOD!

Barrio - Tacos + Tequila + Whiskey: Words cannot express how much we love it here. With a pre-fixed taco menu, and the option to build your own this is every taco lovers dream. The drinks are incredible, with an entire wall of alcohol at the back bar. Indoor and Outdoor seating, amazing quesos, salsas. Happy, friendly, consistent quality service. This is our favorite restaurant, hands down!

Tin & Taco: With 4 locations in and around Orlando, PLUS craft tacos, wraps, salads, craft beers and sodas, you absolutely cannot go wrong with eating and drinking here! Tin and Taco has an amazing vibe, is a super cool place to be, and has your tastebuds exploding with flavor during your entire experience there! BONUS! They also cater, for big and small events!! It would be another dream come true to work YOUR wedding with this amazing company.

Bagel Bruno: This company has the best bagels in Orlando in my humble opinion. With hearth baked bagels made fresh every morning, they’re vegan friendly, and have a huge variety of spreads and sandwiches! PLUS part of their menu changes seasonally, so if you’re one for trying new flavor combinations, or if you’re more of a creature of habit, Bagel Bruno is the perfect option for you.

Mecatos: If you love Colombian style coffee and food, this is THE place to be. The Lake Underhill location is halfway between East Orlando and Downtown Orlando, it’s huge inside, has outside seating, amazing coffee and even better food! They have light pastries, breakfast sandwiches, arepas, an atmosphere conducive to relaxing and talking or being able to get some good work in. I absolutely love Mecatos, and am going to go pick something up from them right…about…now…
