Sunset Rooftop Wedding | Tampa, FL

Wedding Photographer & Videographer • Tampa, FL

I had such a hard time limiting the amount of photos I wanted to post for this blog. Brittani + Greg’s wedding is in the running for my favorite wedding of the year! Honestly, the whole day from the planner, to the florals, to the decorations, to the wedding party. Everything was so well thought out, it was elegant yet simple and sophisticated.

The photos and videos were so important to Brittani, and she applied every one of the suggestions I gave her in our consultations leading up to the wedding. A huge help (especially when we’re on a little bit of a tighter timeline) is having the guys almost completely ready when we arrive to start photos. When we showed up and gave the guys a 15 minute heads up that we’d be starting soon, they were already dressed, relaxing and waiting for us! I mean, that’s like a dream come true, and honestly a rare thing we experience on wedding days. This gave us extra time for candid photos, detail photos, and formal photos outside!

Brittani + her girls were the exact same way! They kept the hotel room clean, and everyone was ready in their robes, with hair and makeup done when we arrived! I mean, it’s a dream come true for my type a personality.

On top of everyone being ahead of schedule, everyone was so relaxed and happy, so we had such an incredible time working with the girls.

It’s been a dream of mine to capture a rooftop wedding since I started photographing weddings, and it did not disappoint. See for yourself, it was stunning!

Brittani and Greg didn’t want to have a first look (understandable), but couples portraits were the most important thing to them, and they have relatively small families, so we scheduled the most time for their couples portraits.

One little hiccup we ran into is that there were only two elevators, and they were moving SOO SLOW. So our initial plan was to do all the couples portraits first downstairs, and come back upstairs for family and wedding party portraits. However, if we continued with that plan, we would spend too much time waiting for the elevators and would run out of light. So, what we decided to do is flip flop the plan and quickly get the family portraits and wedding party portraits done so that we could just take as many couples portraits as we wanted until we ran out of light.

It honestly worked out fantastic, and gave the couple some nice time alone (well, alone with us), and they had a chance to wind down a bit after the ceremony, before the reception!

The reception was so much fun! Brittani had this fantastic idea to put on one song before dinner started so that she and Greg could run around to all their tables and get a photo with everyone at each table! Honestly, I believe this should be done at every wedding. It guarantees you’ll get a photo with all of your guests, and then they can chat with their guests through the rest of the night.

I strongly believe it would not have been possible without the best DJ and Planning team we’ve had the pleasure of working with though. Everlasting Sounds was incredible to work with, made sure everything happened on time, and kept everyone dancing the whole night!
