Rustic Outdoor Barn | Wedding Photographer | New Smyrna Beach, FL

Jessie + Jacks wedding captured my heart in so many ways. See, I (Ashley) grew up riding horses, and my happy place is outside, at barns and ranches, and especially around horses. So Bending Branch Ranch is like THE perfect wedding venue in my eyes.

Something I recommend to all our brides ahead of time is to have all your details for your detail photos in one place (a box, bag, or container works), so that when we’re ready for detail photos, no one is running around trying to find all the different things needed. Jessie and Jack had two photographers, so my incredible second photographer Morgan got to work with Jack and his groomsmen for the first half of the day. She said they were a lot of fun, for sure!
Morgan and Manny took Jack out to he field where this beautiful blue rustic truck was sitting, for him to read the letter Jessie wrote to him, these are some of my favorite groomsmen pictures ever.

The ceremony was officiated by Jacks uncle, so there were lots of sweet and funny anecdotes, and the traditional ceremony was followed by a candle lighting ceremony, which was both funny (the fire kept blowing out on the candles) and super sweet and symbolic of the two families joining together into one.

And lets just admire for one minute how beautifully the red, white and green accent florals go with the stone and wood ceremony site, backed by huge, moss dripped oak trees.

Jessie and Jack opted to add an extra hour onto their package so that we had a little more time prior to the ceremony to capture all their Groom + Groomsmen and Bride + Bridesmaids formals. This allowed a little more breathing room during cocktail hour to work with their large wedding party for wedding party formals, and their couples photos.

We took a majority of their couples portraits in the large field where the blue pickup truck sits, because we felt that the blue of the truck was perfect for accenting her bouquet, dress, and Jacks tie.

Something different about the entrance of the wedding party into the reception, which I actually really liked, is the entire wedding party entered the reception together dancing! I feel like this really hyped up the crowd, and allowed those in the wedding party not comfortable dancing in, a little bit of cover so all the spotlight wasn’t on them.

When it came time for cake cutting, it was actually super funny. The cake was on a floating table, which is so beautiful, but not super practical for the cutting of the cake. The table was moving and it was a little nerve-wracking, so we focused on capturing them feeding the cake to each other in a different position after they got their slice of cake!

This is another wedding where Jessie + Jack chose to do a mock exit. We decided that it was the best choice for them because they wanted to party it up with all their friends and family, so right before they cut the cake, we gathered their wedding party outside for the sparkler exit. This allowed all the formalities to be done early on in the night, so that they could relax and enjoy the party the rest of the night.
