Dylan + Aly Rivard

Venue 1902 at Preservation Hall • Orlando, Florida Wedding Photographer

Poor Dylan + Aly were one of the many many couples who had to reschedule their wedding thanks to Covid. While it was upsetting at first, they did not let it affect their joy and excitement leading up to the wedding day. And they CERTAINLY did not let it affect the buzz of excitement, nerves, and joy on their big day! I absolutely love when the bride and groom get ready, have their ceremony, and the reception all on the same location. It saves tons of time driving and carrying our equipment around, plus the photos are all more cohesive because venues usually have a theme or feel that’s carried all throughout.

Venue 1902 at Preservation Hall is definitely in the top 3 of my favorite venues I’ve ever captured a wedding at. Their staff is friendly, accommodating, and on top of things. Their bridal suite is very light, bright and airy, for the PERFECT getting ready and bridal portrait photos, and it’s complete with gorgeous couches, tables, hooks on an accent wall for dress photos (Her beautiful dress is from One and Only Bridal) , and just so much space!! Even with Aly’s large group of bridesmaids, it was so spacious in there! The groom suite is just as nice, but with more of a masculine feel, so more wood, nice dark leather couches, and gives you beautiful, moody groom and groomsmen photos, with enough natural light to not have to use your flash (HUGE bonus for me!). Another bonus, they write the timeline of the day down for the guys on their chalkboard wall so that everyone gets ready on time! Enjoy these awesome getting ready photos in the bride and groom suites.

After everyone was ready (Hair and MakeUp Done by Kristy’s Artistry Design Team, and before the ceremony, we were scheduled for a first look. Little did Dylan know, that he was in for a big surprise. You see, Dylan didn’t want a first look, but Aly kept insisting for months on having a first look. And while we were touring the venue together, she pulled me aside and told me her secret plans. She wanted to surprise Dylan with a groomsman dressed in a wedding dress for the first look instead of him seeing her! I personally have always wanted to do this, and so of course I was completely on board. His reaction did not disappoint! Poor Dylan looked so disappointed after this “first look” when he found out he was going to have to wait for the ceremony to see his beautiful bride.

Finally the time had come for the couples outdoor ceremony. They had a stunning circular wooden arch from Ocean Hawks Rentals, with gorgeous florals from Orlando Flower Market. They arranged the chairs for their guests in a semi-circle, so that everyone had a good view of the bride and groom, and they had folding doors, so that the bride could get all set up before the big reveal and the walk down the aisle with her dad.

The ceremony was personal, short and sweet, officiated by Wedding Ceremonies by Edna, with personal vows that made everyone cry. Finally, after almost 5 additional months of waiting, Dylan and Aly were MR + MRS RIVARD!! After having a married moment, while their guests moved inside for cocktail hour, we did family photos and wedding party photos outside of Venue 1902 in the courtyard where the ceremony was, as well as in front of the building to take advantage of the beautiful brick exterior.

The wedding party was soon released from their duties, so that they could go and enjoy cocktail hour while the bride and groom got a sneak peek of the reception area, and snuck back outside for some couples portraits before the reception started.

After 15 minutes of couples portraits, we went upstairs to the awesome reception area, the wedding party danced in, the bride and groom shared a very sweet first dance, special dances with their parents, dinner was served (buffet style by: Premiere Wedding Event Services) and toasts were given! We snuck the couple back out for a few sunset photos before the full party commenced inside.

The rest of the wedding night was filled with drinking, dancing, cake cutting (desserts by Morgan Hunter Desserts), bouquet tossing, garter removing and more dancing(Dj-ing provided by King Entertainment Events. It was so much fun, and fills my heart with joy that these two were finally able to have the wedding of their dreams! The night finished off with a slow dance in an empty reception area, and a sparkler exit outside! Happy Wedding Day to Dylan + Aly, Mr + Mrs. Rivard!!!
