From our first consultation with Philecia and Ron, I knew that they were going to be awesome to work with! When I asked if there was anything specific they needed/wanted with their photos and video, Ron replied “You are the experts, and we love your work, so we trust you!”. We had free creative reign on their wedding day, and we had so much fun!
The day started off with Philecia’s getting ready photos at a gorgeous AirBnb near Casa Feliz in Winter Park. Huge sliding glass doors, windows, and tall ceilings made for perfect lighting for her detail shots and getting ready shots. There were SO MANY GIRLS in her Bride Tribe, but there was such love and excitement filling the air that we barely noticed the amount of people in the house. Philecia’s sisters and MOH’s were probably some of the absolute best MOH’s I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with, they were happy, on top of things, and helped us with everything we needed!
After spending some time with the girls, we met Ron and his groomsmen at their Venue, Casa Feliz in Winter Park, FL. There, we were able to get some amazing photos with the Groom Squad, who were lighthearted, funny, and just having a great time!
After getting some photos with the gentlemen, it was time to head into the Courtyard for Philecia and Ron’s first look! I absolutely LOVE first looks. Some couples are hesitant to do first looks because they don’t want to take away from the Magic of walking down the aisle and seeing each other for the first time. But let me tell you what. As you’ll see a little farther down, these two had an AMAZINGLY sweet first look, and both still got emotional when walking down the aisle.
After their first look, we went outside and started taking family, and wedding party photos. Philecia has a huge family! So there were lots of people to coordinate, but she didn’t let that get her down, she stayed happy and excited! Once we finished with all the photos, we went upstairs in Casa Feliz to their beautiful bridal and groom suites, with access to a balcony overlooking the courtyard where they had their sweet first look to relax and snap a few more pictures. And can we PLEASE take a minute to appreciate how absolutely stunning the brides and bridesmaids’ bouquets are?! An absolutely beautiful job done by Bloominous and Sugar Rose Gardens!
Finally the time had come for the Ceremony, and as I mentioned earlier, the first look between these two did not ruin their moment walking down the aisle. This ceremony was beautiful, and included many tears, lots of laughter, somber and serious moments, a tying of three cords, a proclamation of love and support from friends and family, and the tossing of lavender after Philecia and Ron became husband and wife. This amazing ceremony, and the whole day of the wedding was beautifully coordinated by Natalie and her Hubby who own Eucalyptus and Rose.
Unfortunately, due to circumstances outside of anyones control, the ceremony started and ran later than scheduled. So we found a private spot inside the venue and took Philecia and Ron’s couples photos. After taking their couples photos, we all went downstairs for the wedding party introductions, the awesomely fun and sweet first dance, and the tear-jerking mother daughter(s) dance! This all took place while their friends and families were encircled around them, experiencing these beautiful moments with them.
Next up was welcome speeches, food (provided by Arthur’s Catering), toasts, a fun shoe game, cake cutting and dancing the night away! DJRey was so awesome to work with! He kept all of the guests laughing, excited, and most importantly, DANCING!! Philecia surprised Ron with a trip to Universal Studios as his wedding gift, and there was an awesome nod to the Marvel community/Robert Downey JR with the “I Love You 3,000” cake topper on the beautiful cake by Sugar Sugar Cake Boutique.
After a beautiful day, and a bouquet toss, it was time to send the happy newlyweds off with a bubble exit! Surrounded by their friends and family for the last time that day, they walked through an aisle of people cheering them on, and made their way towards an awesome Tesla waiting to sweep them off to the start of their Honeymoon! Everyone said their goodbyes, and just like that, the day was wrapped!
